Buildher
is
Norway’s first* non-profit creative carpentry workshop run by women.

*We have not come across another non-profit carpentry workshop run by women. But if we are wrong, let us know!

We offer a space for creativity and exploration for all…

  • Our 75m2 workshop has views of the fjord and is equipped with a big range of power and hand tools. We are constantly upgrading our equipment, so there are always new goodies to play with! You can book time in our workshop to work on your personal projects via “book & build”

  • Are you a beginner? Scared of power tools? Don’t worry, we have courses for you!

  • Our creative community often host events. These are free and are a great way to meet fellow buildhers.

  • We love collaborating and learning from the pros. We regularly offer classes run by professional carpenters.

  • Do you have an activity for which you need a workshop? Get in contact with us for a quote.

Our workshop is normally open every Wednesday
5:15-19:45pm.

We are located at Kobbes Gate 10, Nyhavna.

You don’t need to be an expert to join our space.

You are welcome here! So join a course, learn and share knowledge with the community.

Our Values

We go for it

At buildher we don’t hold back: we dare to create, to make things and learn as we do so! We are less about the talk, and more about action! We are not afraid to fail along the way, because we know that it’s a part of learning!

We use what we have

We are a resourceful community in every sense; we share the knowledge, we collaborate and we always use reused materials when we can.

We empower women

We create a community for people who have traditionally been excluded from building and promote carpentry/building as a hobby and prof.
